yeah, well... another one of those kind of sick abstract art wannabe doodles. How do I come up with this stuff? I mean, I use no heavy drugs. Well, whatever, here's the 411 on this one:
I have always envisioned pain (either mental or physical) as very similar, at least on a symbolic level. Old age, lonelliness, motion sickness, mental instability, confusion, britney spear's music, feelings of impotence, frailness of character... they all suck. So do headaches, bruises, fever, broken bones, an upset stomach, cancer or any illness for that matter.
What connects them? is it some reptylic skullface-worm slowly throbbing and crawling inside us, laughing at our disomfort? a hairless wrinkled dead rodentish tyrant king? whatever it looks like, we humans no matter how strong or experienced we are are prone to pain. Pain is hard to disguise, and hard to live with.
Now comes the stupid part. Am I in pain? nope. I just felt like drawing something painful. And if it offends you in any way because of the lack of quality... well, I guess this one reached its goal: a pain in the eyes! *hyuk hyuk hyuk*
I think you're being a little hard on yourself... This is a brilliant drawing with some amazing detail.. It's so surreal... And the fact it has a meaning behind it makes it even better. Wow.
Well, you know they (whoever "they" are) say one is the worst critic of him/herslef... maybe we're hard because we know we could do better Thank you very much for the very encouraging comment!
You and your damn visions never fucking cease to amaze me, bro. I specially dig the shading, which is pretty good. I have always admired the surreality of your dreams, chimeras, visions, whatnot of such an unusual mind. All in spite that I've never said so, or maybe I have but... oh, well, you know what I mean. Regards, friend of friends.
must.... think... something... witty... and... intelligentily (that's a word?) insulting... to ... reply...
aaaw. This one won me over. Thanks dude! you finally managed to scratch the spot behind the ears of my dog-natured ego and my tail is wagging. Ugh, scratch that, it sounded horrible. and gay. which we are not. Okay, I'm drowning in a river of shite due to the aversion I have to erase what I have written...
Soooo.... change of subject: Classic pancake UFOs. Art from outer space or just mean speed machines focused on function rather than form?
Okay, now that I made it awkwardly clear with my unlimited resources that the dog wagging thing was a metaphor and is not to be discussed any further I'd like to thank you again bro. I specially liked the "unusual mind" part. 'Cause you know, that means I'm special. GO TEAM SPECiAL!
Hahaha, not "special" in that "unusual way", man. More like in an awesome way. Note that I didn't add those quotation marks because well, I does not need them.
A veces el dolor es gran inspiración, ciertamente, aunque no lo sintamos. Es parte del pathos necesario para la obra de arte clasica. Buen trabajo, Varanus, muy doloroso el resultado.
